Second Street, the leading provider of private-label online promotions for media companies, has announced a strengthening of its deals and other ecommerce promotions capabilities through a technology alliance with NimbleCommerce, the largest enterprise offers and promotions platform that connects media companies to merchants and buyers.

Santa Clara, CA -- Second Street, the leading provider of private-label online promotions for media companies, has announced a strengthening of its deals and other ecommerce promotions capabilities through a technology alliance with NimbleCommerce.

"We are committed to the future of ecommerce promotions for media companies. This alliance with NimbleCommerce strengthens our deals and ecommerce offerings as part of our focus to provide the best integrated solutions for our partners' overall promotions strategy," said Matt Coen, president and co-founder of Second Street. "We are very excited to work with NimbleCommerce, whose platform allows us to offer an even better experience for consumers and a large network of offers to our media partners."

Coen said clients will see an improved mobile experience from the alliance, which will begin in October and be in place by the end of the year.

"Nimble is an excellent ecommerce company and they have sophisticated shopping cart functionality around things like being able to predictively suggest additional deals," he said. "This network is meaningful because it has a lot of interesting deals that can complement what our partners sell locally, which is still the most important aspect of deals."

The new technology provides a number of capabilities including enhanced mobile functionality with responsive design, advanced shopping cart features, and access to a network of nationally and locally sourced deals to complement the media company's own offers.

"We believe that strong ecommerce programs require both great marketing strategy and leading technology," said Coen. "Nimble has done some great work with technology. This is their focus. They've got a large international footprint and some nice scale around deals."

"We're delighted to partner with Second Street and help grow their clients' revenues through an expanded ecommerce offering," said Prashant Nedungadi, co-founder and CEO of NimbleCommerce. "We look forward to working together to provide new ecommerce experiences to their expansive base of media customers."

Second Street's services include online contesting, ballots, ecommerce, email and text message marketing, photo e-commerce, and photo and video user-generated content community tools for local media companies. Second Street has connected more than 3,000 of the nation's top newspapers, radio, and television stations to 6 million consumers throughout the United States.
